I've seen the bag I want, how do I order?
If you've seen a bagpipe cover you would like to order please either add it to your cart using the button next to the bagpipe cover. Alternatively if you have a question or would like something different or not in the shop just e-mail us telling us what you would like. Our shopping cart is run by PayPal, this is the safest and most secure way to pay. However if you would like to pay by cheque or postal order please e-mail for our address. Please be aware that if paying by cheque your order will be delayed until funds have cleared. Please do not include any credit / debit card numbers in your e-mail, MacThePipes do not require or have access to any of your financial details.
Do you have a buy it now shopping cart?
We can now announce that we do have a buy it now shopping cart system, allowing you to pay with your credit / debit card or funds transfer via PayPal, however if you would like something different please just get in touch. A lot of our orders are from people wanting something slightly different to the bags shown in the shop, each pipebag is made to order. We would prefer to hear what you need before starting to make your pipebag - we only make bespoke bags, we do not churn out bags by the hundred.
I can get a cheaper bag elsewhere, why should I choose a cover from MacThePipes?
We make no apology that you can get a bagpipe cover elsewhere cheaper and probably faster. A bespoke bag from MacThePipes will normally take up to eight hours to produce, we like to think that our bags are individual works of art. For the manpower that goes into the construction of your bag we believe our bags represent extremely good value for money. Our bags are not 'farmed' out to reduce costs and we refuse to use inferior materials in their production. Our bespoke bags are made by ourselves, pipers who know what is needed in a quality bagpipe cover.
How long before I get my hands on my bag?
Normally we would expect you to have your bag within 2 to 3 weeks as all of our covers are made individually for you & your pipes. Please let us know if you are looking for a completed order in time for a specific event, depending on other current orders we will do our best to try and accommodate such requests.
Can I have traditional trim?
We will do our best to accommodate such requests, however quality trim does appear to be getting harder to source in recent years and can look tired & frayed after a shorter time than our cuffs. Our cuffs were designed to compliment the wood of your pipes and give our covers a unique look.
Will you make me a cover if I supply the material?
We often make covers from fabric supplied by our customers. Please do not be afraid to ask if you require something slightly different from what you see in our shop.
Are your covers available anywhere else?
Currently our bags are available on our website and a small number of carefully selected bagpipe specialist stores. Occasionally, via e-bay, we sometimes 'try out' a new design on e-bay to gauge customer response. If you are interested in stocking our bespoke service please contact us via the contacts page.
Do you make covers for Uilleann Pipes?
Yes, almost all of our designs can be adapted for Uilleann, Smallpipes and practice pipes. Please see our gallery pages for some examples of Uilleann covers. We do have a number of templates for different pipebags, if however your concerned that your cover is slightly different from the 'norm' we often have customers send old pipebags to use as templates before returning them with their completed order.
What is the cost of personalisation / putting my name / website on my bag?
As each cover is individually made for you and your pipes personalisation is free, at no extra cost. Please be aware however that not all bagpipe covers can be personalised due to their designs or materials. Bags that can be personalised usually state this somewhere in their description.
